Check in

Check in from 2pm. You will be asked to give an estimated time of arrival and we will leave your keycard in a lockbox. You will receive full details by email before arrival.

Check out

Check out is at 10am. Your keycard will deactivate at this time. Late check-out is possible but incurs an extra charge – please contact us if you wish to arrange this. Please remember that when your keycard deactivates you will not be able to re-enter the hostel - take all your belongings with you when you leave the building.

Lost keys

Out of hours (after 5pm on weekdays, and at weekends) staff callouts due to lost or misplaced keycards incur a charge of £15. Please ensure that you look after your keycard, and do not lock yourself out of your room or the hostel.

Children

Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

Under 18s may stay in rooms booked for exclusive use only.

We do not supply cots. You are welcome to bring your own cot into the Eala room – we do not permit cots in the upstairs bunk rooms for fire safety reasons. Children under 2 sleeping in own cot (Eala room only) or in a parent's bed, are free of charge.

Accessibility

The Eala room, guest kitchen, cèilidh lounge, exhibition room, community hall and launderette are fully wheelchair accessible.

Feadag, Uiseag and Curracag are upstairs rooms with no lift access.

Pets

Dogs are welcome, and are charged at £5 per dog per night.

Please contact us on 01851 710210 or info@bragararnol.org to book in your pet.

Dogs are not allowed on the beds or furniture and must not be left alone in the rooms.

Guests should bring their own dog beds.

Electric Vehicles & E-bikes

The EV charger at Grinneabhat is out of service. The nearest charge point is at Shawbost School, 2.6 miles away.

E-bike charging and the use of domestic EV chargers is strictly forbidden within the Grinneabhat building, for fire safety and insurance reasons. You are solely liable for any damage or loss suffered by us as a result of unauthorised use of EV and E-bike chargers.

E-bikes are not permitted within the building. Please let us know well in advance if you would like to store your bike in a shed rather than in the covered bicycle rack outside, and we will do our best to help.

Smoking and vaping

There is a strict no smoking or vaping policy within the building.

Fire hazards

Candles, incense and fireworks must not be lit on the premises or grounds.

Personal injury and theft

Our insurance does not cover you for personal injury, damage or theft of your possessions while you are in the hostel. We strongly advise having travel insurance in place to provide both cancellation cover and injury/personal possessions cover.

Damages

Guests are liable for damages and theft during their stay and will be charged in full to cover any costs that may occur.
